When I was younger around the age of 13 I played travel softball. My team had won district league so that meant we were off to syracuse to play in the state championship. I was so excited, my team booked a hotel and we were off to syracuse. I was having so much fun exploring the area with my teammates and my family. On the first day of our tournament we had to get up early to play our first game, our team stopped at subway to get some sandwiches so we had a good breakfast before we played. I got a sub with mayonnaise, cheese, lettuce and ham with two cookies on the side for later. I started eating my sandwich but I got too full so I saved half of it to eat later. I left my sandwich in the backseat of my dads car. It was extremely hot outside it went up to 93 degrees! When we finished with our games we drove back to the hotel, I took my sandwich and cookies and put it in the refrigerator to have for whenever i was hungry. Later that night i grabbed my sandwich and two cookies and ate it all. I was getting ready to go to bed around 10:00 but i wasn't feeling too good. I tried my best to go to sleep but my stomach was hurting me so bad that I couldnt. Not much longer after I got up and ran to the bathroom. I started throwing up everywhere, it would not stop, i couldn't leave the bathroom for hours!!!! It was the worst feeling I had ever experienced in my life, I couldn't take it anymore I felt so sick and weak that my dad had to carry me to the car while holding a bucket for me and took me to the hospital. When i got there the doctors ran some tests and hooked me up to an IV because i was so dehydrated from not being able to drink anything. I had founf out that i had food poisoning from the subway i left in the car that was exposed to the blazing heat. I was in the hospital all day and even missed my games. When I finally felt better I got to go back to my hotel. The next day I had pitched with the same arm I had the needle in and the team agaisnt us only scored one run. Everyone was so shocked at how good I played, it was such a great day because even though i was throwing up the day before and spent the day in the hospital I came out on the field, gave it my all and lead us to the final round of playoffs.

Legacy

Liz Erickson Ms. Strmac English 4 May 17th 2018 As i graduate high school i would like to be remembered as a nice person. In all honestly i could care less if people remembered me i would rather not be remembered because all the people i go to highschool with end up being irrelevant in my future so i really don't stress over what people have to say about me. I like being as nice as possible to everyone i associate with but at the same time it's not a big deal to me if i'm not remembered. In the future i will be going to college with a whole new group of people and the people i went to highschool with won't even be a thought in my mind. I feel like it's more important to leave a good impression in college than high school because those are the people that might stick with you for the rest of your life.

Proud

Liz Erickson Ms. Strmac English 4 May 17th 2018 The thing i am most proud of so far would probably have to be my high school softball experience. I am going to be a four year varsity player and it makes me feel very accomplished. When i lived in New York softball was a very big thing unlike here. My freshman year of highschool i was the only freshman to make it on the varsity team and not only did i just make the team but i started in the field every game and was always batting at the top of the line up. I will never forget the day i was sick and had to miss a game and my coach got so mad at the fact that i was sick because he had to put someone else in my position and they missed so many balls hit to them. Even though he was mad it kinda made me feel good that he feels like he needs me to play because no one else could play the position as good as me. I feel really proud of myself for all the accomplishments i made through my softball experience.
