First and Then by emma mills is a book about a girl named Devon Tennyson, she is a senior in highschool and has no idea what she is doing with her future but it's okay because she’s not stressed. She didn't have a set group of friends, she kept to herself because she didn't think she fit in with any other groups but she had good friendship with a boy named Cas that she secretly had a crush on for years. One day her awkward cousin Foster was moving into her house to live with her family because of his mothers mental issues. Devon wasn't too thrilled about him moving in but she knew it wasn't going to be for long so she tried her best to be understanding. Foster got enrolled to go to school with Devon, he was a freshman. Devon is very quick to judge, Foster was tiny and dressed very different which made her feel like Foster was going to be very lonely just because of the way he looked. Little did Devon know, that was the complete opposite of what was going to happen. Ezra Linsly is a very well known kid in their school and a star on the football team. He started taking interest with Foster because of his stellar kicking and even got him a spot on the varsity football team. When Devon saw what was going on she immediately thought of Ezra as a basic jock who only cares about himself and his profile. The closer Foster and Ezra got the more Devin got to see the real Ezra. She found Ezra attractive and realized that he is actually very shy and played football because he loved it not for the popularity. Devon and Ezra were not very good with expressing their feelings so throughout the book it was very unclear how they felt about each other but they ended up kissing which started something between the two of them. This whole experience had opened Devons eyes and made her realize how people might look one way but that doesnt define what kind of person they really are. It's a good thing she didn't stick to her first instinct about Ezra because then she would have never ended up with a great guy like him.

Liz Erickson Ms. Strmac English 4 May 17th 2018 As i graduate high school i would like to be remembered as a nice person. In all honestly i could care less if people remembered me i would rather not be remembered because all the people i go to highschool with end up being irrelevant in my future so i really don't stress over what people have to say about me. I like being as nice as possible to everyone i associate with but at the same time it's not a big deal to me if i'm not remembered. In the future i will be going to college with a whole new group of people and the people i went to highschool with won't even be a thought in my mind. I feel like it's more important to leave a good impression in college than high school because those are the people that might stick with you for the rest of your life.

Proud

Liz Erickson Ms. Strmac English 4 May 17th 2018 The thing i am most proud of so far would probably have to be my high school softball experience. I am going to be a four year varsity player and it makes me feel very accomplished. When i lived in New York softball was a very big thing unlike here. My freshman year of highschool i was the only freshman to make it on the varsity team and not only did i just make the team but i started in the field every game and was always batting at the top of the line up. I will never forget the day i was sick and had to miss a game and my coach got so mad at the fact that i was sick because he had to put someone else in my position and they missed so many balls hit to them. Even though he was mad it kinda made me feel good that he feels like he needs me to play because no one else could play the position as good as me. I feel really proud of myself for all the accomplishments i made through my softball experience.
